We have started this blog as a means to help us stay connected with you, and keep you up to date on what is going on in our lives :)
To start off, we are getting married on June 2nd, YAY!!! It has already been cool to see how the Lord is orchestrating things, and the adventure has only just begun! Before even knowing each other, we both felt that we were called to the mission field, and now that the Lord has brought us together, it is even more clear that that is the direction He is taking us, at least for this season. To most people, starting off a marriage on the mission field might not seem so ideal, but we are thrilled that we have the opportunity to give the first of our marriage to the Lord! In August we will be headed to Tegucigalpa, Honduras where we and two other girls from Ballet Magnificat will be partnering with a ballet and music studio. There Jonathan will be teaching guitar and Alycia will be teaching dance, both as a means to further the Kingdom of God. There will also be other ministry opportunities that we will have once we are down there that I will keep you updated about. We are not sure how long the Lord will keep us in Honduras, but we are confident that is where He has us this year.
To give you a little background on how this opportunity came about, Alycia has spent the last three years dancing with Ballet Magnificat! in their trainee program. In 2011, Ballet Magnificat! started a new branch of their ministry called Global. This program sends graduates of the trainee program to the nations to work as teachers, performers, and choreographers, as well as with outreach dance schools and partner churches to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the medium of dance.
We would really appreciate your prayers as we make this big transition in our lives,
- That we would be establish as a married couple with our focus always on the Lord
- That He would give us His vision in preparing us for the work that we will be doing in Honduras
- That we would, "count everything as loss compared to the surpassing worth of knowing Jesus Christ" (Philippians 3:8)
- That the Lord would provide ALL that we need financially, physically and spiritually
As you may or may not know, this transition is going to cost a lot of money. We are responsible for buying our plane tickets, shipping one of our cars, housing, and many other expenses. If you would like to help support us financially, you can give one of two ways:
- You can give straight to us by sending donations to
- 4835 Casa Grande, San Antonio, TX 78233
-
- You can also give through Ballet Magnificat!
- If you would like more information on how to donate through the ministry email us at alively@satx.rr.com or you can call the Ballet Magnificat offices at 601-977-1001
- Ballet Magnificat is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and any donations made through the ministry will be tax deductible
Thank you in advance for all of your prayers and support! We are looking forward to all of the exciting things that are going to take place and we can't wait to share them with you!
- Jonathan and Alycia
Praying! :)
